September 2011 (Vienna, VA) – To kickoff Pollution Prevention Week, last week, the EPA launched a new green products portal. The EPA’s intentions were to create a tool that can be easily accessed and provides information on household products and appliances, that will be prevent pollution and promote a healthy environment for all. The purpose of the portal is to provide people with an alternative to wasteful, costly and harmful products. Using green products can help save our environment, as well as keep money in your pockets, by using energy efficient appliances. The EPA has information regarding standards and criteria for designing greener products, which would be useful to manufacturers and institutional purchasers, on the portal, as well.
